Fremont Street Free Entertainment Las Vegas

Whether you are rich or not, don’t ignore Fremont Street free entertainment. We all know that nothing is really free in life. However, in Las Vegas everything is possible :)

There is a lot of action on Fremont Street Experience to keep you excited and amused, and generally speaking it’s free of charge. Don’t take it literally though… Tipping the entertainers is a good thing to do, because after all, this is the reason why they are performing there. And why not to say, they really deserve it.

This tap dancer for instance was absolutely a pleasure to look at! I got inspired and made this action scene painterly in the digital media. I also uploaded it to mt Fine Art America gallery, and it is available as art prints.

But if you don’t tip, you may see some of them turning their heads or making bad faces, like these guys I tried to photograph… They were not doing anything special at that moment, and I just wanted to take a shot. My intention was to give them something later. Obviously that didn’t happen following their reaction – just look at their expressions – ha, ha :)

But the Fremont Street free entertainment is endless and it varies day by day.

Those who cannot play, sing or dance, are trying to make a buck as mimes. Here is one standing still like a statue.
** Several of this pictures are part of my Fine Art America gallery, available as art prints. So, if you are interested just click on the links to see the many products and formats. You may also have noticed already that I like to play with my photography in a painterly modeโ€ฆ

The Entertainers

You can also find all kinds of impersonators here. There is always a surprise though, as you never know who you may have the chance to see :)

The “Pirate of the Caribbean” and “Willy Wonka” were extremely friendly and they nicely posed for me. I was happy with the shot :)

Needles to say that the “pirate” had a lot of success and many where willing to get his attention, asking him for autographs. Next to the pirate, a team was trying to make one of them to look like he was levitating with the help of a stick. I didn’t have the patience to wait for the final result, so I don’t know if they did it or not :)

That’s right. What I like most is to photograph interesting scenes and people when they are not aware :)

These girls dressed like cabaret dancers are there to pose with the tourists. In this scene they were just getting instructions from their manager…

And, some kind of conflict was happening here below. – Who knows what the story was? It was interesting however to notice and snap it :)

Conflict scene on the street

This lady was preparing herself before the show. Looking at her costume, she was somehow related to the lady above.

Lots of unexpected free entertainment on Fremont Street – some more amazing than others :) This is definitely not a place to bring your kids to!

You can simply sit with a drink at one of the bars and cafes and watch all of these things happening :)

The main Fremont Street free entertainment feature is the constantly moving lights

On this street the light keeps moving and everything is a continuous activity :) * I made this as a digital painting:

Everything that exists on this street is free entertainment, but first and foremost are the Fremont Street Experience lights. The piece of resistance is without doubt the Viva Vision light show.

It happens every hour and it’s just incredible. All this animation just runs above your head. Read more about it in my previous post linked above.

Fremont Street free entertainment: music and dancing

In addition to everything else, at the end of the street the music, dance and fun never ends. There is always at least music on the stage between the Golden Gate Casino and Vegas Club.

Want to dance? Don’t be shy, join the crowd! :)

At special events like New Year’s Eve, or St.Patrick’s Day, you can listen to performing bands for free too :)

But the entertainment on Fremont Street Experience doesn’t end with the shows and lights. In the last years, the Slotzilla Zip Line has been added to the whole excitement. This activity is not free, but it’s fun to watch people flying above your head :)

There is always a lot of activity on Fremont Street Experience, and as you can see it’s free of charge. Just go and have some fun! :)

  1. Very glad to, great pics! ๐Ÿ˜Š Yeah, โ€œthingsโ€ were probably as different then as โ€œthenโ€ was to decades earlier (based on old photos weโ€™d see then) – certainly looks like Vegas has kept up with being fun ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Thank you so much Felipe. Wow, I cannot believe that there “wasnโ€™t much sidewalk action going” in the 90’s! There is a lot of activity now :) Thanks for sharing my pics too :)

  3. Wow, Vegas has definitely taken it another step up from when my wife & I used to go (a lot!) back in the 90s ๐Ÿ˜Š There just wasnโ€™t much sidewalk action going on; I like this! Very fun looking, Tatiana! Shared 2 pics to my Travel board on Pinterest & your digital art piece (โ€œveryโ€ nice!) to my Digital Art board ๐Ÿ˜Š
