For the New Year’s Eve more than 300,000 people pack the Strip along Las Vegas Boulevard between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road, including the area between the Stratosphere at the North to the Mandalay Bay at the South.
This entire length is closed to vehicle traffic from 6:00 PM., and the Strip become one huge pedestrian mall which along with the Fremont Street Experience bring thousands of celebrators together.
The good news is that the Public transportation monorail and the buses will be free until the next day at 9.00 am
Note that at 11:00 PM all the hotels along the strip stop letting people enter and they reopen their doors again at 12:30 AM. People who didn’t plan ahead for this closure last year might have wished they would of… good to know about this!

The Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve party takes place between 5;30 PM. and 3:30 AM. at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas New Year’s Eve World Class Fireworks Displays will fired from seven hotel roof-tops along the Strip.
One of the USA’s leading pyrotechnics companies and Guiness World Record holder is “Fireworks by Grucci”. They will be orchestrating the performance to a choreography of fireworks and exciting music.
The launching points will be: MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Aria, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian and Stratosphere. The computer controlled program begins at midnight and lasts about 7 minutes, with over 80,000 pyrotechnics being fired.
